PinLockr Vault

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Welcome to PinLockr: Photo & Video Locker (“PinLockr”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles information when you use the app.

By downloading, installing, or using PinLockr, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Our Privacy-First Approach

PinLockr is designed as a local, on-device secure vault disguised as a phone dialer. Protecting your private files is the core purpose of the app.

We do not collect, view, store, transmit, sell, or have access to:

All vault content and security credentials remain on your device unless you choose to unhide files back to device storage.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Local storage only

Files you import (images, videos, audio, documents) are moved or copied into PinLockr’s private, encrypted app storage on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers or any cloud service we operate.

Encryption

Vault files are protected using on-device encryption before being stored in the app’s private directory.

No user accounts

PinLockr does not require registration, login, or an online account.

Backups

App backup is disabled by design to reduce accidental exposure of vault data through system backup services.

Important: If you uninstall the app, clear app data, or factory reset your device without unhiding your files first, hidden vault content may be permanently lost. You are responsible for exporting/unhiding files before removal.

3. Permissions We Request

PinLockr requests certain Android permissions only to provide its features:

All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

Required to import, hide, move, and restore files between your device’s public storage/gallery and the app’s secure private vault.

Media access (photos, videos, audio)

Used to let you select files from your device to hide in the vault. We do not scan or upload your media library to the internet.

Contacts (read access)

Used only on your device to display and search contacts in the built-in dialer and contacts screens, and to help you place calls. Contact data is processed locally and is not sent to us or third parties by PinLockr.

Phone / Call (CALL_PHONE)

Used to place phone calls when you tap call from the dialer or contacts screen. We do not record, store, or upload your call logs.

Internet

Required for loading third-party advertisements (see Section 5). Not used to upload your vault files.

Advertising ID (AD_ID)

Used by advertising partners to serve and measure ads, in line with Google Play policies.

Vibration

Used for dial-pad haptic feedback.

PinLockr does not request camera permission and does not capture photos or videos through an in-app camera.

4. Security Features

PIN-protected vault

Access to the hidden vault requires your private PIN entered on the dialer keypad.

Optional decoy vault

You may enable a separate decoy PIN that opens a different local vault intended for non-sensitive files. Your real vault remains protected by your main PIN.

Recovery question

If enabled during setup, your recovery question and answer are stored locally on your device to help you reset your PIN. We cannot recover your PIN or vault contents remotely.

5. Third-Party Advertising

PinLockr is free to use and displays advertisements through Google AdMob and related Google advertising services to support development and maintenance.

Third-party ad partners may collect technical and advertising-related information, such as:

Ad formats in the app may include banner, native, interstitial, and app-open ads.

We do not share your hidden vault files, PIN, or personal media with advertisers.

Google advertising privacy information:
Google Privacy Policy

Google AdMob & EU User Consent / GDPR:
Where required by law, ad partners may show consent options or serve non-personalized ads based on your region and device settings.

You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings:
Settings → Google → Ads (wording may vary by device).

6. Data We Collect (Developer)

As the developer of PinLockr, we do not directly collect personal data from your vault or dialer usage.

We do not operate analytics, crash-reporting, or cloud sync services that upload your private content in the current version of the app.

If you email us for support (see Section 11), we receive only the information you voluntarily include in your message.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Limited sharing may occur only through:

We never share your hidden files, PINs, or recovery credentials.

8. Children’s Privacy

PinLockr is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it from support correspondence.

9. International Users

PinLockr is a local device utility. Because vault data stays on your phone, GDPR/CCPA-style rights (access, deletion, portability) for vault content are exercised by you directly through the app (unhide/delete files, clear app data, uninstall). For ad-related rights, refer to Google’s privacy tools and your device ad settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
